Service eligibility and regional restrictions
PuppyIP serves only compliant overseas businesses and their authorized personnel. Proxy services are not available in mainland China. The service may only be used for lawful business activities outside mainland China. Use of this service within mainland China is prohibited.
Hosting a proxy IP or server overseas does not change these restrictions. The service must not be provided to end users in mainland China through relaying, forwarding, sharing or resale. Before use, read the Terms of Service.
Key Takeaways
- GPT-6 Cyber specializes in authorized security work. Initial access is limited, with no exact date for wider availability.
- Daybreak Red approval and GPT-6 Cyber approval are separate. The individual Blue application does not include Red.
- Responses API requests select gpt-6-cyber and daybreak_red, using a key from an enabled project.
- API access requires IP allowlisting by default. ZDR projects generally also need Private Safety Processing; access approval does not establish zero retention.
What has launched?
GPT-6 Cyber is a cybersecurity-focused variant of GPT-6 Astra for authorized vulnerability research and security testing. OpenAI’s November 5, 2026 announcement identifies it as the model behind the earlier Linux kernel research. Releasing a model and shipping installable vendor patches are separate developments.
Tibo introduced the model that day and pointed to Daybreak Red access. His post announces no usage reset or numbered Day. Linux operators can continue with the 948 findings and patch-status checklist.
Who can apply or use it now?
Initial API and Codex access is for selected Daybreak Red customers approved for this model. OpenAI plans to expand access, without an exact date for every Red customer. A general subscription does not automatically grant access.
The current help page limits the regular Red application path to approved business and enterprise organizations. Individuals can apply for Blue. Limited individual Red exceptions do not establish an open individual Red application path. Check Blue, Red and model approval separately.
Organizations can submit identity, professional-use and organization details through the official Daybreak application. Submission, completed security setup and approval are distinct states. The launch does not provide a complete country list, standard review time or customer price quote.
How do API and Codex access fit together?
For Responses API access, have an organization owner enable Red for the actual non-default project, then use that project’s key. Set model to gpt-6-cyber and access_programs.cyber to daybreak_red. The official example also supplies a stable, pseudonymous safety_identifier. Parameters cannot grant missing permissions.
In Codex, ChatGPT sign-in uses the approved workspace; API-key sign-in uses an enabled Red project. Confirm that the current client’s Daybreak control is on and that the model is available. An ordinary Codex session does not establish Cyber access.
Why check the allowlist and organization security?
The system card requires organizational protections including single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Red API access also requires IP allowlisting by default: requests must come from customer-approved public addresses. Technical exceptions need approval; cloud-provider channels may have different requirements.
Have the network owner compare the application’s actual exit address with the approved list, then validate in an authorized environment. Route exit changes through normal organizational controls. A proxy address cannot supply model eligibility, regional eligibility or target authorization, and must not be used to bypass an allowlist.
What must a ZDR project check?
Standard retention is the default. Zero Data Retention (ZDR) API customers generally need Private Safety Processing (PSP), with limited approved exceptions. The system card describes protected review of encrypted safety records, retained in customer storage for 30 days, without exposing underlying prompts and responses to OpenAI personnel.
The API guide says to check that PSP storage is Validated and the project policy is Zero Data Retention with Private Safety Processing. PSP applies to all API traffic in that project. Have the data owner review project boundaries and retention before submitting sensitive code.
How should you investigate a failed request?
Check organization and model approval, the key’s project, Red enablement, the outbound allowlist and retention policy. A 400 invalid_access_program indicates an incompatible model/program value. For 403 access_program_not_enabled, check organization or project enablement instead of assuming a network failure.
These are integration recommendations, not results from a test performed here. Give Support the model ID, exact error, request ID, timestamp and time zone; exclude API keys. Limit security work to approved targets, credentials and actions, with human oversight for high-risk workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does existing AWS Bedrock Daybreak access include this model?
The OpenAI API and Codex launch does not establish enablement of the same model in an AWS account. Check the cloud channel’s model, Region and account permissions separately. The existing Daybreak and Bedrock eligibility guide covers that cloud channel.
Should every mainline model request use daybreak_red after Red approval?
No. The API guide specifies values by model. For example, eligible Red users requesting reduced refusals on gpt-6-astra or gpt-6.1-sol still send daybreak_blue. Check the target model’s documented value rather than copying the organization’s tier into every request.
