Shopee MY-SG Ads Growth Plan: 3% or 5% top-ups continue when ads pause

Pausing an ad does not stop MY-SG Ads Growth Plan conversions. Selected sellers who remain eligible have qualifying completed sales converted into Ads Credits at their assigned 3% or 5% rate once orders reach Escrow Verified. The October 13 update replaces weekly distribution with automatic order-based crediting. Check your own status and conversion records before treating the balance as a free grant.

Key Takeaways

  • The plan covers selected MY-SG Direct Programme sellers: an assigned 3% for Electronics sellers or 5% for non-Electronics sellers, not every Malaysia or Singapore store.
  • The announced update takes effect October 13, 2026. Completed eligible orders reaching Escrow Verified are converted automatically, replacing weekly accumulation and distribution.
  • The assigned rate cannot be changed and eligible participants cannot opt out themselves. Pausing a campaign controls advertising, not plan conversions.
  • The FAQ and terms differ in eligibility branching and calculation-base wording. Check your own eligibility page and settlement details rather than assuming one shipping or tax treatment.
  • Automatic Shop GMV Max creation has prerequisites. Changes or pauses affect ROAS protection, which rebates Ads Credits rather than guaranteeing profit or cash refunds.

What changes on October 13: no weekly distribution wait

Shopee Ads Malaysia’s MY-SG Shopee Ads Growth Plan page dates this update to October 13, 2026. It describes automatic conversion when eligible completed orders reach Escrow Verified, replacing the previous process of accumulating and distributing credits weekly.

Escrow Verified is the platform’s verified order-earnings settlement stage. At that point, qualifying earnings become Shopee Ads Credits. This conversion is different from an advertising spend that disappears when a campaign is paused. The announcement does not specify an exact effective hour, time zone or your store’s activation time.

This is a plan update, not evidence that every seller first joined on October 13. Start by checking whether your store is included and which rate the system assigns to it.

Who gets 3% or 5%, and why a Mall label is not enough

The stated scope is selected MY-SG Direct Programme sellers. EL means Electronics sellers, assigned 3%; non-EL means non-Electronics sellers, assigned 5%. These are the announcement’s seller classifications. Do not decide your store’s rate from the category of a single product.

The eligibility description lists Malaysia Mall or Marketplace sellers and previous-month average daily orders above 0 in Singapore, average daily orders above 20 in Malaysia, and Malaysia average daily GMV above RM 1650. GMV means gross merchandise value. These are daily averages, not merely 20 orders or RM 1650 across the whole month.

The FAQ introduces all criteria but also presents a Mall-or-Marketplace branch; the location of “or” differs in section 2 of the terms. A Mall label alone therefore cannot be presented as guaranteed eligibility, and this guide cannot determine your platform status. Read the Auto Top-Up (Escrow) eligibility status in your own Direct module and ask official support about an unclear branch.

Sellers already in AdXpress with commission above the corresponding 3% or 5% threshold are excluded. Shopee retains discretion to select, withdraw or re-enroll sellers. Losing eligibility may trigger withdrawal and later eligibility may trigger re-enrollment. Other countries’ stores or Singapore domestic stores cannot simply apply this plan to themselves.

Calculate the conversion without calling it a free grant

The FAQ formula takes Product Price minus Seller Product Discount minus Seller Vouchers, then applies the assigned 3% or 5%. Unexecuted hypothetical example: if the eligible calculation amount under that FAQ formula is RM 100, the 3% rate gives RM 3 and the 5% rate gives RM 5. This illustrates rates, not any real order’s settlement.

Section 3(a) of the terms additionally mentions shipping fees, discounts, vouchers and applicable taxes. That wording is not identical to the FAQ formula. The example cannot establish one tax-inclusive or shipping-inclusive base for every order. Compare your order’s conversion line with the terms applying to your store and ask Shopee about differences.

The terms call the result Paid Ads Credits: sales revenue becomes an advertising balance rather than extra free cash. They describe the conversion itself as carrying no extra cost. That does not waive all store commission, taxes or other applicable charges.

Paid Credits have no expiry and can fund available platform ad types, excluding Homepage Brand Ads. Section 6 still requires the conversion in cases of returns or refunds. Do not promise that a refund automatically reverses converted credits; the actual order treatment needs your own records.

Check three places: eligibility, the order and transaction history

First, open Shopee Ads in the Direct module of Seller Centre and read Auto Top-Up (Escrow). Check your store’s eligibility, assigned rate and Automated Ads Solution details. A similarly named ordinary auto-top-up setting does not establish inclusion in this assigned plan.

Second, open Order Details for a completed order that reached Escrow Verified. The page says the converted amount appears as a Shopee Ads Growth Plan line item. Connect the order status, calculation amount and assigned rate instead of checking only the aggregate Ads Credits balance.

Third, inspect the detailed Shopee Ads Transaction History breakdown, which the page says refreshes hourly. The E-Invoice groups Auto Escrow Top-up with ATU or manual top-ups under Seller Value-Added Services - Paid Ads. Crediting, history refresh and invoice presentation are separate layers.

If your eligibility or amount is unclear, ask official support about the corresponding line and applicable rule. This guide has not accessed seller orders, invoices or accounts, enabled top-ups, created ads or changed settings.

Why pausing does not stop conversions: campaign and plan status differ

The official FAQ says eligible participants cannot opt out and cannot adjust their assigned 3% or 5%. Section 3(c) says conversions continue until the seller is no longer eligible. Pausing Shop GMV Max stops that campaign’s advertising; it is not an Ads Growth Plan withdrawal.

Automatic creation has a prerequisite: the page describes sellers without an existing Shop GMV Max ad group, while the terms also refer to having no active ad group. Shopee determines the actual creation date and time. It can set the budget, Target ROAS and an unlimited duration. Do not promise that every newly included store immediately receives an identical campaign.

ROAS is the ratio of ad-attributed sales to advertising spend. The system-created group’s daily budget cannot be edited directly. Shopee’s stated route is to pause that group and create a new Shop GMV Max group manually. Consider adjustable Target ROAS, grouped items and pause controls alongside budget limits and protection eligibility.

The terms’ protection conditions require at least 10 daily ad orders, achieved ROAS below 90% of the original target, and no campaign pause or settings change. The rebate is free Ads Credits, not guaranteed profit or a cash refund. A pause or change excludes the corresponding rebate on that action day, and the page warns that changing a system-created group affects subsequent protection eligibility.

The useful decision now: check cash flow before changing campaigns

Separate the plan’s assigned conversions, any additional top-up you choose, and actual ad consumption. Pausing one group can leave plan conversions running, while other active ads can continue drawing from the same balance.

To control new ad spending, inspect the real campaign’s budget, target and duration before deciding whether to pause or create another group, and read the protection conditions. Repeatedly changing campaign settings is not the official way to stop assigned plan conversions.

This public page does not establish your inclusion, ad results or unchanged future rules. Read your own eligibility page and corresponding accounts, then take specific questions about the eligibility branch, shipping/tax base or refunds to Shopee. Another region’s similarly named plan cannot replace these MY-SG rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I top up more than the assigned 3% or 5%?

The page allows an additional optional top-up rate above the assigned rate. That adds an advertising-funding source; it does not reduce or replace the plan rate. Keep both components separate when reviewing amounts.

If transaction history has not updated immediately, was nothing converted?

Not necessarily. Shopee describes automatic crediting at Escrow Verified separately from an hourly transaction-history refresh and notes possible congestion-related delays during campaigns. Compare the order line and balance, then ask support about inconsistencies. An unknown delay is not a fixed delivery-time promise.

Will the automatic Shop GMV Max group stop my other existing ads?

The terms do not say that. The system optimizes the relevant new group without replacing other ongoing ads. Those active ads can still consume the same balance, so include them when reviewing overall spending.

Can disabling ordinary Auto Top-Up opt me out of this conversion?

These are different mechanisms. The official Shop GMV Max guide describes an optional top-up from Seller Wallet when ad credits fall below a threshold. Leaving it disabled still allows an ad to be published, which stops when credits run out. This plan converts eligible order earnings at Escrow Verified under its assigned-rate and opt-out terms. Disabling ordinary top-up is not a plan-withdrawal method.
